A day in the life

My friend Stephanie always has the greatest meme's and I'm glad I'm able to tag myself thanks to her exclusive tagging system...

Outside My Window... the sun is shining and Little Miss's toys are scattered around the backyard. To be a child again...

***

I am thinking...
I think I hear babbling on the other side of the baby monitor, and she didn't sleep very long.

***

I am thankful for...
being able to stay home with my daughter during the week and have a routine for her. I love the time we spend together and being a momma is such a blessing!

***

From the kitchen...
I have been tackling it all day, we have ants! They are slowly fading away though because Windex kills all. I learned that one from Meet the Fockers :)

***

I am wearing...
dark brown shorts and a brown and cream fitted tee.

***

I am creating...
a loving home and life for my daughter to grow up and look back at with fond memories of her childhood.

***

I am going...
to finish getting the dining room table cleared off and then start tackling the bathroom. First it was ants, next it's mildew!

***

I am reading...
blogs, magazines, and baby books. I started "Wicked" a couple of months back and need to pull it out to finish. I'm in a reading rut right now.

***

I am hoping...
for continued happiness.

***

I am hearing...
definitely Little Miss over the monitor. She's cooing, my little morning dove.

***

Around the house...
trying to purge as much as possible. I don't need so much stuff. I'm hoping to do a major style overhaul on our house as well. We're going to be doing A LOT of painting, I hope.

***

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...
play, clean, and Nana is coming for a visit this week, so we'll do even more playing then!

As Stephanie put it, Tag you're it!

About me

10 Years Ago: During my summer vacation between my junior and senior year of high school, I was applying for my first job. It was during that interview that I met my husband... he hired me on the spot :)

Things on my to do list today: Since the day is almost over, not much. I think we may stick a movie in and just hang out tonight. We've also thrown around the idea of working on our budget or doing some things around the house like tape off a room or two for painting. Not sure what sounds like the most fun at 9 o'clock at night.

If I suddenly became a billionaire: I would pay off our student loans and debt, as well as that of our family. I'd probably take a couple fabulous vacations around the globe and definitely have another baby or two, or three. Hopefully we'd move someplace a little more interesting too since we'd have the money to fly home and visit more often. And lastly, I'd probably enjoy being a rich person who hands out $100 bills to random strangers on the street. That would be priceless.

Three of my bad habits: 1. Wasting too much time on the computer, 2. Not picking up after myself and letting my house become chaotic before having a mass cleaning day, 3. Not watching what I eat and being a lazy bum that doesn't exercise - not a good habit at all!

Five jobs I have had: a Wendy's employee, a newspaper ad designer, a waitress, a telemarketer, and currently a labor & delivery RN.

Five things people don't know about me: 1. I used to be embarrassed to sing in my car thinking other people were watching me. Now I could care less, especially since it often looks like I'm talking to myself since Little Miss is nestled in the back seat, 2. I swam competitively for 8 years, l-o-v-e-d backstroke and was pretty good at it, 3. I think I'd enjoy homeschooling my Little Miss but probably won't, 4. I'm really itching to pack up and move somewhere else like either the East or West coast, 5. Most of my hair became curly after my pregnancy, except for the front/top layers. So, I got that area permed to even it all out and I've now got curly wash and go hair. I'm loving it!

Now it's your turn, consider yourself tagged! Tell me about yourself and leave a comment so I'll know to come check out your blog post.

I've been tagged

I was tagged for this random meme by Devon and figured it would be appropriate to do during party week so that others could get to know me a little bit better. So here we go...

What I was doing 10 years ago: I was a junior in high school (so hard to believe) and I was involved in a number of extracurriculars. My two favorites being newspaper, in which I was the Opinions Editor that year, a very fitting position I must add, and Chorale. I worked for my uncle at his printing shop after school a couple of days each week making large vinyl banners and signs. Also, this was a year that I was often getting myself into quite a bit of trouble and rebeling with the best of them. Some things are just best left in the past, right?

5 Things on my To Do List today: 1) When baby girl wakes up from her nap, we're needing to go buy bottle inserts as we're out of large ones. 2) Prepare dinner, Mexican Pork /w Vegetable Rice. 3) Organize my notes for the Twins and Triplets childbirth class I teach tonight. 4) Wash a load or two of Baby Girl's clothing. 5) Work on my Control Journal.

Snacks I Enjoy: Ice cream (my favorite is Blue Bunny Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate or Mint Chocolate Chip), chips and espinaca dip, fresh fruit like grapes, cherries or berries, cheesecake, homemade chocolate chip cookies with milk... I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are the first to come to my mind.

Things I would do if I were a Billionaire: Pay off all of our debt, take a huge family vacation and pay for everyone to come along, move someplace further away knowing we could travel home to see family on a whim, make a will, donate money to family, donate to church, donate to a cause or two... again, I'm sure there are plenty of other things I would do, but that's so not going to happen I'm not prepared with many answers.

3 of my Bad Habits: Wasting time on the computer, staying in my pajamas and not getting ready until before my husband comes home from work, not calling my family and friends as often as I wish I did just to say hello, I'm thinking about you.

5 places I have lived: My parent's house, college dorm, My grandma's house, an apartment, currently our first house!!! Could I be any more vague or what?!?!

5 Jobs I have had: waitress at a steakhouse, grocery store cashier, telemarketer, advertisement designer for a newspaper, labor and delivery nurse. Random, I know.

There you have it, a little bit of more exciting info about me. I'm going to tag a few of my newest party friends: Kellie, Kimberly, Misty, Alexis, Kara and anyone else who wants to jump in is welcome!
